Planning policies, such as the Local Development Plan, provide the framework for development in ߣsir��Ƶ and Bute.

Local Development Plan 2

The ߣsir��Ƶ and Bute Local Development Plan 2 was adopted on 28th February 2024, and replaces the ߣsir��Ƶ and Bute Local Development Plan 2015 and its associated Supplementary Guidance (March 2016), and Supplementary Guidance 2 (December 2016).

Local Development Plan 3

Work has started on the ߣsir��Ƶ and Bute Local Development Plan 3 which is expected to replace Local Development Plan 2 in 2029.

The Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 (section 16E) requires all local Planning Authorities to prepare and maintain a list of anyone interested in acquiring land for self-build across their authority area.
