The UK Government has advised that its £25 million contribution to ߣsirÊÓƵ and Bute's deal is on hold while it carries out its spending review.
ߣsirÊÓƵ and Bute is the only area in Scotland without a multi-million pound growth deal.
The council continues to work with both Governments on progressing the Deal.
The Deal is designed to achieve significant benefits for ߣsirÊÓƵ and Bute and its economic growth, including:
- Deliver at least 300 additional jobs
- Create 6,500 m2 of new business space
- Deliver training opportunities to over 6,000 students and individuals
- Support local businesses to thrive
- Construct new housing and worker accommodation to help address the local housing emergency
- Generate over 70,000 additional visitors to the area per annum
