The purpose of the CHILD PROTECTION PLANNING MEETING is to ensure relevant information is shared where it is proportionate to do so, to carry out a collective assessment of risk, and to agree a plan to minimise risk of harm to the child. The Child Protection Planning Meeting must decide whether the child is at risk of significant harm and requires a co‑ordinated, multi-disciplinary Child Protection Plan.
The Core Group are responsible for implementing, monitoring and reviewing the Child Protection Plan, in partnership with children and parents. The Multi-agency reflective supervision guidance below sets out the procedures for practitioners to reflect on complex or challenging practice issues from a multi-agency perspective to ensure best outcomes for children and young people.
The sections from the National Child Protection Guidance listed below along with ߣsirÊÓƵ and Bute practice note, protocols, and assessment tools set out the procedures, processes, and timescales to follow and guide you through what’s expected of you when participating in child protection planning meetings and core groups.
